#Blue Period Anime Coming October 2021, First Anime Trailer

The official website for Blue Period announced the anime series release is scheduled for October 2021. The first anime trailer, key visual, and cast were also revealed. 

The anime’s cast includes Hiromu Mineta as Yatora Yaguchi, Yumiri Hanamori as Ryuji Ayukawa, Daiki Yamashita as Yotasuke Takahashi, Kengo Kawanishi as Haruka Hashida, and Yume Miyamoto as Maki Kuwana.

The anime’s staff includes Kouji Masunari (Magi) as chief director, Katsuya Asano (Yu-Gi-Oh!) as director, Reiko Yoshida (Non Non Biyori Nonstop) as series composer and scriptwriter, and Tomoyuki Shimotani (Bakuman) as character designer. Seven Arcs is in charge of the animation production.

The Blue Period manga launched in Kodansha’s Afternoon magazine in June 2017. Kodansha publishes the manga in English and describes the story as: 

Yatora is the perfect high school student, with good grades and lots of friends. It’s an effortless performance, and, ultimately…a dull one. But he wanders into the art room one day, and a lone painting captures his eye, awakening him to a kind of beauty he never knew. Compelled and consumed, he dives in headfirst — and he’s about to learn how savage and unforgiving art can be!
