#Gmail, YouTube outage: Users report problems worldwide

“#Gmail, YouTube outage: Users report problems worldwide”
Gmail, YouTube and other Google productivity services suffered a massive outage Monday morning.
Thousands of users around the world had reported problems with Gmail and YouTube by about 7:20 a.m., according to outage-tracking website Downdetector.
Other Google Workspace services such as Google Calendar, Google Drive and the Google Meet videoconferencing tool were also inaccessible at the start of the workweek, according to Google’s public status dashboard.
“We’re aware of a problem with Gmail affecting a majority of users,” Google wrote on its public status dashboard, where it posted similar messages for other services. “The affected users are unable to access Gmail.”
Gmail users received error messages saying their accounts were unavailable when trying to access their emails, according to Twitter posts about the problems. For instance, the service said it “couldn’t find your Google account” when a Post reporter attempted to log into his Gmail account.
The YouTube homepage was also disabled — it currently shows a cartoon image of a monkey holding a hammer with the message, “Something went wrong…”
Google did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the problems Monday.
