Highlights from the Giants practice on Tuesday.

Hit time

You want some good old-time physical football? How about a live tackling goal-line drill? Joe Judge said he’s used this drill for more than a decade. It has not been used around the Giants in quite some time. Judge said it’s a way to “safely have collisions.’’

Bad tackle

The first rep for rookie LT Andrew Thomas in the pass-rush drill was ugly. He got bull-rushed and put on his back by Lorenzo Carter. Thomas also had some rough moments versus Leonard Williams, but was able to stabilize and hold his own on several reps.

Caught my eye

These players are going to get coached hard. There were penalty laps run by RB Wayne Gallman and rookie LB Cam Brown. As Brown slowly jogged through two laps, outside linebackers coach Bret Bielema followed him and loudly berated Brown.

Medical report

CB Corey Ballentine gave the Giants a scare when he went down after getting crunched by rookie WR Austin Mack in the tackling drill. Ballentine stayed down and looked as if he hurt his shoulder. The cart came out and Ballentine sat on it for a few minutes, but then got to his feet as the cart drove off without him. Ballentine was able to finish practice.
