#Giants look like they have edge on Eagles in one area

The Eagles did not exactly make a strong impression in their two games this season with the Giants. The coaching staff that won a Super Bowl after the 2017 season sure looks a bit ratty.

Throwing at James Bradberry, far and away the Giants’ best corner, on a key third down early in the game? Not smart. Eagles head coach Doug Pederson sounds as if he has lost his mojo as his team was lousy coming out of its bye week.

“There’s things that go on that as a head coach, you have to deal with, and a lot of them could be practice-related or off-the-field issues and different things, and even in my own preparation,’’ Pederson said.

Worst of all was the 34-yard touchdown run by Daniel Jones on the same play Jones ran for 80 yards on the Eagles three weeks earlier.

“First game it was a little bit of a surprise,’’ Philadelphia defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz said. “They ran out of a formation we hadn’t seen before, but it was embarrassing in this game because they ran out of the exact same formation, and we fit it wrong. The guy that’s supposed to be there for the quarterback wasn’t there. Nobody else got off any blocks and he made us pay with a touchdown.’’

If coaching determines who wins the NFC East, the Giants are in good shape.
