Trae Young’s status is officially up in the air.

A Monday morning MRI showed a bone bruise on the Hawks point guard’s right foot, leaving him questionable for Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday. Atlanta trails the series 2-1 after Sunday’s loss.

Young was initially diagnosed with a right ankle sprain after stepping on the foot of referee Sean Wright in third quarter of Atlanta’s Game 3 home loss.

Young — who became a new Knicks villain during the Hawks’ five-game, first-round win — admitted he was slowed due to pain when he returned in the fourth quarter. Only three of his 35 points came after the injury on 1-for-4 shooting, though Game 3 marked Young’s eighth 30-point game of the playoffs.

“It’s sore right now. It’s hurting. It’s frustrating,” he told reporters after Game 3, calling the injury “a freaky bad accident.” He said he would continue to receive treatment.

Feeling optimistic about Game 4, Young added, “That’s all I can do right now is get treatment… Hopefully it feels better before next game.”

Game 6 (if necessary) would be Saturday in Atlanta. If needed, the Bucks and Hawks will play a Game 7 on July 5 in Milwaukee.
