Matt Swider, US Editor-in-Chief at TechRadar broke the news exclusively, thanks to his numerous sources. According to Matt, the drop will be today, but there’s no specific timeframe yet. It is, however, fair that you stay alert from 11 am ET onward.
Target will have its “biggest” restock in months this week. Click here to read more about it.
The last GameStop PS5 drop happened on July 16 at 11 am ET. To have another restock so soon clearly signifies that GameStop is trying to meet the demand as much as possible. Keep in mind though, GameStop only sells PS5 bundles, meaning, you’ll have to spend almost $100 or $200 extra to get the other stuff packaged in the bundle. You’ll also be requiring a PowerUp Pro subscription that costs $15 a year.
Whenever there’s a restock, GameStop announces it 90 minutes prior for people to get ready. The usual timeframe is 11 am ET to 2 pm ET.
How to successfully buy the PS5 from GameStop
- As soon as we tweet out that the PS5s are live, visit the GameStop either through our links or by yourself
- You’ll see the Add to Cart button will be grey, but that doesn’t mean the consoles are sold out. It just means GameStop is preparing the website for the drop
- Once it turns red, you will click on it, and it still might say unavailable or check back soon. Again, this doesn’t mean the consoles have sold out
- Keep trying and spamming the add to cart button as GameStop drop takes a lot of tries before actually being able to get one into the cart
- There will be a warranty add-on there. Click on it and then add to cart. You can remove the warranty later
- Don’t refresh the page too much, instead, try spamming the add to cart button. If you refresh the page a lot, you’ll be banned. Don’t worry, you can retry from a different device or browser or private mode
We’ll be active on Twitter tracking the GameStop drop and will tweet out as soon as the PS5s are in stock. Make sure you follow us on Twitter and never miss an update from the world of video games. Until next time, Stay Safe, Wear A Mask, and Happy Gaming!
