#Freddie Gibbs to Star in New Movie Down With the King

Freddie Gibbs is starring in the forthcoming movie Down With the King, Complex reports. Written and directed by Diego Ongaro the film is about a famous rapper named Mercury Maxwell (played by Gibbs) who abruptly retires to focus on a newfound appreciation of farming, while his manager tries to lure him back to the rap game. Gibbs also wrote and performed original music for the film, according to Complex.

Recently Gibbs was nominated for Best Rap Album at the the 2021 Grammy Awards for Alfredo; he lost to Nas.
