#Fractured Daydream Is A 20-Player Co-op Game About Fighting Bosses

Bandai Namco has revealed the next Sword Art Online game, Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream, which will arrive on Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam this year. Instead of having a story campaign, Fractured Daydream is an online co-op focused title — crossplay is supported — where players take on Bosses in groups of up to 20.

Bandai Namco Europe says that a Closed Beta Test will be held in March. The test will feature two game modes. Boss Raid is a boss fight that divides the 20-strong raid team into five-member parties. Co-op Quest is similar, but the four parties have to first head off to separate levels and clear them before reuniting for the big confrontation.

The playable characters in the CBT will include Kirito, Agil, Argo, Sinon, Oberon, and Leafa. The full game will have over “20 SAO characters, each with their own unique skills.”

In SWORD ART ONLINE Fractured Daydream, a new system is applied to the world of Alfheim Online, but a malfunction causes all worlds and timelines to collide, creating a unique setting and challenging environment for Kirito and other players. All lost in uncharted territory, enemies become allies, departed characters are back and unlikely alliances will be formed to survive the dangers in this unsettled world.
