“#Fousheé recruits Lil Wayne on “gold fronts””
The track serves as the follow-up to her single “sing about love.”
Rising singer Fousheé shared the visual to her latest single “gold fronts” alongside Lil Wayne on Monday. The track’s simple acoustic production acts as the perfect backdrop for Fousheé’s raspy delivery, with the song’s lyrics speaking more to resilience than gleaming mouth jewelry. “I think this year had a personal vendetta / there’s always 2031 / We self-medicate, what you do today,” she sings on the track’s second verse. In the video, Fousheé reminisces and spends time with family and friends before making it to the liquor store for Wayne’s verse.
Speaking to Apple Music’s Zane Lowe about how the song came together, Fousheé says she was feeling particularly introspective in a quiet studio. “I feel like we all been in this weird space during quarantine, where we’re either unpacking, purging. We have those days where it just feels really dark. So, that’s how I was feeling that day. And I’m like, I want to talk about that,” she said.
