Four people were taken to the hospital following a two-alarm blaze that erupted at an apartment building in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, authorities said.

FDNY officials said the fire broke out at 7:30 a.m. Saturday in a second-floor apartment at 227 South Second St., and reached to the third floor before being brought under control an hour later.

About 100 firefighters responded. Frightened residents could be seen on the fifth-floor fire escapes as the FDNY extinguished the flames.

FDNY officials said the cause of the blaze is under investigation.

A scorched electric scooter was found in the “fire apartment,” FDNY sources said. What looked like a charger and battery were also recovered from the scene by investigators, another source said.
