According to latest leaks, Fortnite is going to crossover with World of Warcraft, adding it to their long list of collaborations. It all started when a Twitter account named Wowhead revealed some intriguing details from the World of Warcraft Patch 10.1.7 PTR build. He published a list of spells concerning a new character that will be added into the game.

Reference in Spells

Cranking 90s – The Renegade Looter rapidly constructs a tower to gain the high ground.
One Pump – The Renegade Looter carefully aims a deadly shotgun blast, inflicting 1000 Fire damage to any players hit.
Shockwave Bomb – The Renegade Looter throws a Shockwave Bomb at the ground, knocking them and players away.
Slurp Drink – The Renegade Looter slurps refreshing juice, healing for 2% health every 1 sec.
Disco Bomb – The Disco Bomb explodes, causing anyone within 3.5 yards to dance uncontrollably and increase damage taken by 50% for 5 sec.
High Ground – While on the high ground, the Renegade Looter’s damage taken is reduced by 99%.
Glug Jug – Consume the Glug Jug to restore full health.
The Storm– The Storm inflicts 10 Nature damage every 1 sec to players not within its eye.

Any Fortnite player will be able to recognize the lingos used here as a direct reference to the hit battle royale game.

For example, the Slurp Drink and Glug Jug hints at the similar items used in the shooter with identical healing effects.
The Cranking 90s is a popular term as well where a Fortnite player quickly gains high ground by building structures.
We also see a weapon reference mentioned as One Pump which is hinting at Fortnite’s powerful pump shotgun.

Similar Character Model

To add onto the World of Warcraft x Fortnite news, a datamined model for a “Renegade Looter” was found, which resembles Renegade Raider.

It could just be a reference to Fortnite and not an official collab, but who knows!

Another leak shows that the new character model carries a striking resemblance to Fortnite’s Renegade Rider. It shares a similar name as well – the Renegade Looter.

Thoughts about these leaks

These leaks could mean two things: either it is an official collaboration or it is a simple easter egg.

As speculated, the latter is more viable in this case when we look at the fact that World of Warcraft does not usually initiate such crossovers.
Instead, they include plenty of easter eggs within the game.

However, it also opens up the possibility of the other way around. Fortnite is known for the many collaborations it’s had since release. As a result, there is a high chance for World of Warcraft coming over to the popular battle royale game.

Possible Skins in Fortnite

If the collab goes through, Fortnite developers will look to bank on the various popular characters found in World of Warcraft and incorporate them into cosmetic items.

We could see fan favorites like Sargeras, Lich King, Garona Halforcen and Anduin Wrynn as player skins.
World of Warcraft is filled with entities like dragons, dwarves, beasts and orcs. So, it won’t be very difficult to turn them into cosmetics for backpacks, pickaxes, weapon skins, and gliders.
We can also expect World of Warcraft themed emotes, sprays, display screens and profile wallpapers as well.

Possible Release Date

No specific release date can be pointed out yet. However, there have been reports of multiple future collaborations planned between Fortnite and a number of Activision Blizzard titles.

According to those, there’s a high chance the collaborations could begin from November to December of 2023. That said, we would probably see the World of Warcraft crossover around this timeframe as well.
