The FortniteYouTube channel has released a brief trailer for the previously teased Fortnite X Naruto Shippuden collaboration. The Naruto Shippuden characters featured in the trailer are the members of Team 7 — Naruto Uzumaki, Sakura Haruno, Sasuke Uchiha, and Kakashi Hatake.
The collaboration will arrive with the v18.40 Update, with downtime beginning at 4AM ET on November 16. Further details have not yet been revealed.
Fortnite X Naruto Shippuden will be the latest in a long line of collaborations for the battle royale game and the first to feature an anime. Previous collaborations have involved League of Legends, Marvel and DC characters, Dune, Ariana Grande, Rick and Morty, and more.
The Naruto Shippuden anime series ran from 2007 to 2017 and is based on the second part of Masashi Kishimoto’s Naruto manga, which ran from 1999 to 2014. The ninja action series has inspired various OVAs and movies. An ongoing sequel manga titled Boruto: Naruto Next Generations began in 2016 and inspired its own anime series adaptation in 2017.
