The Season 8 patch next week will be rather bigger than previous updates. The upcoming Fortnite update 18.20 is anticipated to bring a slew of new changes to the game.

Update Downtime

Fortnite unveiled the new update as well as when the Fortnite systems will be down for planned maintenance. The Fortnite servers will be out at 4:00AM (EST) / 9:00AM (BST) / 01:00 (PST).
The Fortnite maintenance might be 4 or more hours, as per the support team, with most maintenance durations ending before the approximate interruption.
Additionally, matchmaking will be off 30 minutes prior. Here’s the tweet from HypeX:

18.20 – Tuesday 12th
18.21 – Tuesday 19th
18.30 – Tuesday 26th

Fortnitemares

Another reason for the outage could be to facilitate the unveiling of the upcoming Fortnitemares. On the Fortnite Twitter profile, the tarot cards are teasing weekly unveiling. Things are heating up with only two weeks left!

Fortnite x Walking Dead

Epic Games is ringing in Halloween Fortnite as it teases us with brand new crossover characters. Amongst these new crossover characters, one that sticks out is Rick Grimes from AMC’s The Walking Dead. The in-game tease that we received gives us a sneak-peak of his famous hat and just recently, we confirmed that he’s really coming!
Now that our doubts have been put to rest, this would mean that all the Walking Dead fans can get their hands on the whole trio of the survivors, maybe sometime soon this month. Well, for now, let’s the timer begin for the Fortnitemares 2021 reveal, which will have a brand new story chapter in the cube invasion. It will also have some new Creative maps, and much much more!
