Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma Celebrates 10th Anniversary with New Illustration & Rebroadcast

Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year by releasing a special new illustration featuring Soma Yukihira, Erina Nakiri, and Megumi Tadokoro. The first season aired in Japan on April 4, 2015 and the series inspired five total seasons overall through 2020.
The Warner Bros. Japan Anime YouTube channel also posted a short anniversary video for the series with rebroadcast announcements in Japan.
All 24 episodes of the first season will be released for two weeks on the Shonen Jump YouTube channel, with six episodes set to be released every week. In addition, the first three seasons of Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma will also be rebroadcast on Cartoon Network Japan all throughout April to May of this year.
The original manga series was written by Yutu Tsukuda and illustrated by Shun Saeki. It was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump on November 26, 2012 and ended on June 17, 2019. A short sequel series titled Shokugeki no Soma -Le dessert- was released on Jump GIGA from June 27, 2019 to August 29, 2019. A total of 26 tankobon volumes were released.
The manga has also inspired a manga spinoff, light novel, and two video games.
Crunchyroll and HIDIVE are streaming parts of Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma, with the former describing the main premise as:
Yukihira Soma, a middle school student who is determined to surpass his father’s culinary skills. One day, his father decides to close down their family restaurant and hone his skills in Europe. Before leaving he enrolls Soma in an elite culinary school that is extremely difficult to enter with a graduation rate of only 10 percent. Will Soma be able to improve his skills, or will the kitchen prove to be too hot?
