Fivio Foreign made a splash when he broke into the industry with his hit single “Big Drip” in 2020. Since then, the Brooklyn native has blossomed into a superstar, and he even managed to form a friendship with Kanye West.

On Tuesday (June 14), Fivio hopped on Twitter to reflect on his friendship with Kanye West which had him in his feelings a bit. According to the 32-year-old rapper, he’s come a long way from running the streets of Brooklyn with his friends to now having a texting conversation with Ye.

“YE text me lastnite.. shit had me emotional… This shit really came from the bottom,” Fivio tweeted. “I’m really a hood N-gga from the bottom thats rich lol.. Like rich fr.. I still can’t believe this shit.”

Fivio shared the text exchange on his Instagram Story, which showed Ye reaching out and congratulating him for closing out Hot 97’s Summer Jam concert on Sunday (June 12).

“I appreciate big bro so much son..y’all don’t even kno,” Fivio wrote in the caption of his post.

Fivio first linked with Kanye West when the two were working on Donda. They collaborated on tracks such as “Off The Grid” and “Ok Ok” before getting together on Fivio’s debut album B.I.B.L.E. on the track “City of Gods.” Their friendship has been so strong that Ye even said Fivio reminds him of JAY-Z back in September.

“I go Ye, who I remind you of? Who I remind you of?” Fivio recalled during an interview with the Los Angeles Leakers on Power 106. “He like, ‘I don’t know, that’s a good question.’ The question went past so I guess we start eating or whatever. Then something hit him. He go, ‘I got it! Hov!’ I’m like, ‘Word? Hov?’ He say, ‘Hov!’”
