As the end of the current anime season looms closer, people around the world are catching up on the hottest shows of the season before their final episodes. With more TV anime than one knows what to do with on Netflix in Japan, two anime have risen through the ranks to be the hottest of the season on the streaming platform (besides Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-, which is also one of the most popular works on Netflix Japan at the moment).

As noticed by Rent-a-Girlfriend manga creator Reiji Miyajima, his creation, along with Fire Force, are two of the most popular works on Netflix right now. Checking Netflix Japan ourselves, we can confirm that Fire Force is taking the number one slot, and Rent-a-Girlfriend is at number four with only two K-dramas in between them. Rounding off the top 5 is Natsume Yujin-cho, which is newly released on the platform and just announced new film on the way.
As previously reported, K-dramas usually fill out the top 5 spots on Netflix in Japan, with some anime, mostly just Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, just slightly making it onto the list – which includes all the works on the platform!
Fire Force, Rent-a-Girlfriend, and Natsume Yujin-cho are all available on Crunchyroll to watch right now, with the last episode of Rent-a-Girlfriend to air this Friday.
