#Tomb Raider and Skull Island Get Anime Adaptations by Netflix

Netflix and Legendary Television announced two new anime adaptations for Square Enix’s Tomb Raider and Legendary’s Skull Island. 

Both companies are currently in production for the upcoming anime series Pacific Rim: The Black with the animation production by Polygon Pictures. 

The Tomb Raider adaptation will be set after the events of the video-game reboot triology featuring Lara Croft. Tasha Huo will be the writer and executive producer, and Dmitri M. Johnson, Stephan Bugaj, Howard Bliss, and Jacob Robinson will be executive producers. The animation studio has yet to be announced. 

The Skull Island adaptation will be produced by animation studio Powerhouse Animation, known for animating Castlevania and Blood of Zeus on Netflix. The story will center around “shipwrecked characters desperate to escape the most dangerous place on Earth—a mysterious island home to prehistoric monsters, including the greatest titan of them all, Kong.” Brian Duffield and Jacob Robinson will be executive producers for the show.
