Get ready to head back to camp with Marshmallow, a summer camp horror film directed by Daniel DelPurgatorio, in his feature debut, and Hemlock Circle, the production company behind Coup! and The Re-Education of Molly Singer, hitting theaters 4/11.

Official Synopsis:

At a secluded summer camp, Morgan, a shy and introverted 12-year-old, is thrust into a living nightmare when a legendary campfire tale becomes real. Review:

Written by Andy Greskoviak, and directed by Daniel DelPurgatorio, Marshmallow introduces us to Roy portrayed by the awesome, Corbin Bernsen, Rachel (Giorgia Whigham), Morgan (Kue Lawrence) who found out he will be heading to summer camp. Alysia Reiner plays the mom; she was great in Orange is the New Black although please don’t compare it to Tom Fontana’s OZ on HBO. HBO’s OZ will forever be brilliant.

I’m in love with the crow scene. I feel nature always winds up in films, and shows us signs we don’t expect to see. You can feel the heartache and ominous pain that Morgan (Kue Lawrence) is going through. Now, he’s off to camp.

As a lifelong horror fan, this is such a different take on a “camping or let’s go to camp” spooky movie.

The cast includes: Giorgia Whigham, Corbin Bernsen, Alysia Reiner, Miya Cech, Pierson Fode, Paul Soter, Amanda Clayton, Max Malas, Jordyn Raya James, Kue Lawrence, Kai Cech, Maxwell Whittington-Cooper, Samantha Neyland Trumbo, Winston Vengapally, Geoffrey James, Sutton Johnson, Dylan Friedman, and Todd M. Friedman.

It’s a pretty big cast, and I found out from the director Daniel that they shot at an actual camp. We have all the stereotypical camp counselors… The one that does all the work, and is the semi-designated adult, the jock that wants to have sex, the dude who just wants to smoke.

The cast is doing a great job, especially with the subject matter, and how intense everything is.

Morgan arrives at camp, and Morgan meets May (Miya Cech). They meet Collins (Paul Soter) who is the director of this camp. Morgan is making friends quickly. The kids are about to learn how to swim IMMEDIATELY. KIDS ARE MEAN!!! Dude… Rachel (Giorgia Whigham) starts the spooky campfire tales.

“Welcome to Camp,” indeed. It feels nostalgic, and creepy. This MOVIE IS WILD. Corbin Bernsen is like Freddy Krueger and the madness and calmness of his character in The Dentist. Marshmallow is dark and spooky. It isn’t exactly what you expect of a “campfire” horror film but it takes a deep psychological turn, and hits you with quite a few mind f*cks.

Panic Fest 2025 did great adding, Marshmallow into the feature mix. It was a breath of fresh air, a sigh of relief.
