Fat Joe Says No West Coast Artist Has Ever Dominated Like Kendrick Lamar

Fat Joe has claimed that no West Coast artist has ever quite dominated like Kendrick Lamar has over the last year.

Speaking on his new podcast Joe and Jada, the “Make it Rain” star reflected on how Kendrick has become a radio staple since his beef with Drake started.

Joe said: “What I can tell you is, boy, that Kendrick Lamar gets some spins in LA radio…”

He added: “I was there last week. I’ve never seen nothing like that: Every single song, ‘Turn his TV off…’ What? It’s a fact. Kendrick Lamar gets played nine out of every 10 songs in L.A. right now. Not even Snoop Dogg, not even Tupac Shakur — nobody from L.A. has dominated the paint like this guy… If you’re from L.A., you probably think there’s only one guy on Earth, Kendrick Lamar. I’m just keeping it a buck with you.”

Kendrick’s dominance of the airwaves is also reflected on the Billboard charts.His and SZA‘s collaboration “Luther” recently topped the Billboard Hot 100 for the eleventh consecutive week, tying it with Diddy and Faith Evans’ “I’ll Be Missing You” for the most weeks spent at No. 1 among duets by co-billed lead solo men and women.

Over the last year, Lamar has scored four number one singles on the Billboard Hot 100 – “Like That” with Future and Metro Boomin, “Not Like Us” and standouts “Luther” and “Squabble Up”.

Songs such as “Euphoria” and “TV Off” have also had enormous commercial success.

Kendrick has been breaking records left and right over the last year.

He can now boast having the highest grossing concert by a Black male as headlining or co-headlining artist in history.

The feat occurred at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on April 26, where his Grand National Tour (co-headlined by SZA) brought in a whopping $11.822 million in a single night.

The record was previously held by The Weeknd, who grossed $9.8 million at his 2022 concert at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

The opening night of the tour also became the highest grossing rap concert in history, breaking a record help by Eminem since 2019 when he went on a stadium tour of Australia.
