Fat Joe and Biggie allegedly started recording an album together before the late legend’s passing, which just eclipsed the 24-year mark on Tuesday (March 9).

Talking to Verzuz founders Swizz Beatz and Timbaland on his Instagram Live show to celebrate the Ready To Die creator, Joe revealed they’d been in the lab and got a few songs in – recording Tupac disses that never ended up seeing the light of day, much to the Bronx rap legend’s relief.

“You know I say stuff, Tim, and they always say I lie or I say too much,” Joe began. “You know I worked on an album with Biggie? We cut about five songs together. He was like, ‘You the Latino don, I’m the Black don.’ And we was in that studio going crazy. It’s verified by Puff Daddy and everybody. I’ma keep it real – at the time, we were dissing Tupac a lot and all that and so that should have never seen the light of day. Which is respectfully so, because you know they both passed on. But yeah, I worked with the B.I.G. for real.”

Earlier this year, Swizz revealed in an interview with ESPN’s Jalen And Jacoby that he’d love to see the late legends’ respective catalogs go head to head in Verzuz if he could figure out a way to make it happen.

“My dream one, I want to figure out how to do Pac and Biggie in a way that the people is gonna really love it,” Swizz said.

While Timbo didn’t agree or disagree, he responded, “I got a couple ideas. I’ma text you! I’ma call you later! Oh, but not even that, we gotta go Prince and Michael Jackson!”
