She’s not a regular mom, she’s a cool mom!

Farrah Abraham has broken the internet by revealing she let her daughter Sophia get SIX new piercings for her 14 birthday. On her TikTok and Instagram, the Teen Mom star posted a video of her teen at a tattoo parlor getting the piercings. She wrote in the caption of the video:

“@sophialabraham HAPPY 14th Birthday! #snakebite & #earlobe piercing party! 6 piercings later #snakebitepiercings you match vour snake ???? can you even eat your cake? #fvp #birthday #birthdaygirl #birthdaygift #fy #lippiercing”

The video shows a compilation of Sophia sitting in the piercer’s chair with her all-black alternative style and purple hair getting snake bites on her lower lip, as well as two new piercings in each of her ears.

As you know, with anything on the internet, no one was shy about sharing their opinions! And people seem to be pretty torn — they’re either on board or completely against the idea. Some Reddit users even accused Farrah of causing her child trauma for allowing her to get the piercings. Um… what?

One social media user wrote they don’t believe the piercings are “age appropriate”:

“I would have not been allowed back into my school if I showed up with 6 piercings at that age! I think this is a bit too intense and not completely age appropriate. She looks cute but fake ones would have gone a long way as well…”

Another user expressed their concern for Sophia’s facial piercings not healing in the future should she ever decide to take them out:

“Well of course she did, her mother is Farrah. Honestly if I had kid I’d let them get piercings but only nose, ears, and belly button. Face holes never fully heal up and those Monroe’s or snake bite scars look gnarly.”

A third Reddit user insinuated Farrah’s parenting not being up to par:

“As someone who was in the alt scene as a kid and adult I do worry about her. A lot of us ended up there bc our home life was s**tty. especially at her age. Love that she his expressing herself and Farrah allows that.”

And a fourth commenter said they agreed — and suggested that Sophia is traumatized:

“This. I feel like we’ve watched a childhood trauma unfold in real time over the last 14 years and I feel icky about it.”

Seriously?

We’ve all been through our teenage years — it’s pretty clear for most of us if our parents would’ve let us get tattoos or piercings we would’ve jumped at the chance no questions asked! It’s ridiculous to mommy shame Farrah for allowing her daughter to express herself and being along for the ride with her. Whether it’s too much or not, that’s for her and Sophia to decide for themselves.

On Instagram, it seems commenters are less upset about the decision, some users praising the mom of one for it:

“Teenage me wished my parents would have been okay with this. I love you supporting what makes her happy.

My daughter is the same age and also going through a piercing phase – I prefer piercing then any other modification that can’t be reversed! And people should also be mindful that piercing can also be an “outlet” to have pain intentionally inflicted on oneself opposed to the alternative – be kinder people it’s a young hormonal teenager discovering and expressing herself . No our place to judge…

I’m not the biggest Farah fan, but I will say one thing I can appreciate about her is she allows Sophia the freedom to express herself, alot of ppl say its too young however we were piercing each other’s belly buttons with safety pins in the bathroom at school at 13.”
