#Family suspects foul play in Fort Hood solider’s death

Family members are crying foul play over the death of a Fort Hood soldier who collapsed during training last month — saying bruises and scratches were found on his corpse and that he’d texted his fiance that “something” was wrong.

Army tank crewman Pvt. Corlton L. Chee, 25, of New Mexico, had collapsed during fitness training at the troubled Texas base on Aug. 28, dying two days later.

There have been at least 16 deaths this year at Ft. Hood.

Hours before he collapsed, Chee texted his fiance, according to his cousin and family spokesperson Carma Johnson, she told the Gallup Independent.

“He felt that something was going to happen,” she said.

It was the last they’d heard from him. Officials told family members that night that he had collapsed and was hospitalized in critical condition.

His body was covered in bruises and scratches, and he had a bump on the back of his head, she told the paper.

Still, the Army issued a statement on Sept. 8 denying that foul play was a factor in the death.

His cause of death has not yet been determined.
