#Extra: Season 30; Billy Bush Syndicated Series Renewed Despite Cancellation Concerns

“Extra: Season 30; Billy Bush Syndicated Series Renewed Despite Cancellation Concerns”

Extra TV Show: canceled or renewed?

Extra is sticking around for another season. The syndicated entertainment news series has been renewed for a 30th season. Billy Bush hosts the weekday editions while the weekend episodes are anchored by Renee Bargh and Jennifer Lahmers.

Some series staff members were reportedly worried the end was near for the daily pop culture series.

Per The Daily Beast, the merger of Warner Bros. Discovery and layoffs led to concerns that Extra would be cancelled. An investigation into a toxic work environment added to those concerns.  Lisa Gregorisch-Dempsey, an executive producer for the series, also left her position in recent months.

Bush was also criticized in recent weeks after he made an off-camera off-color sexual remark about Kendall Jenner and her Halloween costume during a taping of the syndicated series. The studio showed its support for Bush after the incident.

“As with many forms of production in the entertainment industry, the show’s creative process allows the flexibility to try different jokes and banter,” a representative for Telepictures, the show’s production company, said in a statement. “In the end, some material lands on the cutting room floor, including remarks that may be too edgy to air on broadcast television.”

What do you think? Are you looking forward to seeing another season of Extra? Or, do you think it is time for the show to end?
