The Jets had their full complement of wide receivers on the field Wednesday for the first time since training camp began.

The injury news is finally looking up, with both Breshad Perriman (knee) and rookie Denzel Mims (hamstring) practicing fully as the team begins its preparation for the Bills.

“It was great, just to throw some routes with them and get them in the huddle, it was awesome,” quarterback Sam Darnold said. “Just to get those guys back out there and have them get into a little bit of a rhythm, it was good.”

Mims, a second-round pick out of Baylor, missed nearly all of training camp after pulling his hamstring in workouts before camp. He returned last week in positional drills but did not do team work until Wednesday.

“He’s explosive, quick in and out of his breaks,” Darnold said. “I think that’s the biggest thing. And then, he’s a big target. Those are all the things you want in a receiverWhenever you’ve got a big guy like that who can run, who can get in and out of his cuts, that’s what you want. That’s Denzel. It’s about understanding what’s going on in the game plan and locking in that way. … He was great today.”

Perriman had a strong start to camp then his knee swelled up. He missed the last two weeks of camp dealing with the injury.

The Jets discussed how they will handle Sunday’s national anthem in their team meeting Wednesday. Team CEO and chairman Christopher Johnson was in the meeting, and the team talked about any social justice protests they might do during the anthem.

“For us — whether guys want to kneel, whether guys want to stand, whether guys want to stand with a fist raised — everyone on this team is going to support one another no matter what they do,” Darnold said. “That’s really the gist of it. We’re all a team. We’re all supporting one another no matter what we do.”

The Jets canceled practice two weeks ago to have discussions about social justice initiatives in the wake of the Jacob Blake shooting.

The Jets elected their captains. Darnold and tackle George Fant are the offensive captains. Defensive tackle Steve McLendon and safety Marcus Maye are the defensive captains. Matthias Farley is the special teams captain.

Rookie RB La’Mical Perine did not practice with an ankle injury. LB Tarell Basham (ankle), QB Joe Flacco (neck), G Alex Lewis (shoulder), Maye (calf), LB Avery Williamson (hamstring) were all limited.
