Her most British album ever.

Two years after releasing her debut album, Heaven Knows, PinkPantheress is readying her next project. A sophomore mixtape named Fancy That is slated to arrive on May 9 and it’ll come with nine new songs, the pop star announced on social media on April 7.
The record is said to embrace everything kitsch and U.K.-centric with its extremely Britain-coded album cover (the country’s iconic red telephone booth is on it) and classic dance sound. “Announcing this tape marks a huge milestone for me as an artist,” PinkPantheress said of the effort in a press release. “This feels like the most tied together project i’ve applied myself to as an artist and for my fans who have been with me for years, I hope they can hear the signs of growth in me as an artist.”
There’s quite a bit of info out about the album already, including the team she worked with on its songs (yess, The Dare was involved), as well as the samples you can expect to hear (like Jessica Simpson). Below, see everything we know so far about Fancy That from the album’s tracklist to the music’s “big, grand” sound.
When will Fancy That be released?

Who did PinkPantheress work with for Fancy That?
Alongside getting studio mentorship from Basement Jaxx, per MixMag, PinkPantheress worked with aksel arvid, Count Baldor, phil, Oscar Scheller, and The Dare, among others, for the project, according to a press release.
What’s the concept behind Fancy That?
In an interview with MixMag, PinkPantheress described the music of the new album as “big, grand, and present” that “sounds like a statement.” A descriptor on the record’s pre-order page calls it her entrance into a “fun and kitsch-y era.”
That’s all quite vague, but what’s confirmed is that the record will once again highlight her love of merging classic U.K. dance music with more modern sounds as well as her love of sampling. The singer revealed that the mixtape is laden with samples from Basement Jaxx, Just Jack, Panic! at the Disco (on “Tonight”), Jessica Simpson, and more.
“For me sampling is my way of sharing a love for something and reinterpreting it,” she told MixMag. “I would only sample something I love, I would never sample something for the thought of it having nostalgia-bait or whatever reason. I do it because I want to reinterpret something I love to different audiences.”
Will PinkPantheress go on tour for Fancy That?
A tour is inevitably coming; for now, the singer has announced a few residency shows at London’s O2 Brixton on September 18 and 19. The general on-sale goes live April 14 at 10:00am BST.
