#Evangelion 3.0+1.0 Passes 10 Billion Yen Mark

Evangelion 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon A Time has passed the 10 billion yen mark (~US$90,576,500) 127 days after its release date in March.

6.55 million viewers had flocked to watch the final Rebuild of Evangelion film, which ends its theatrical run in Japan on July 21. 

Evangelion 3.0+1.0 opened in 466 theaters on March 8 after several delays. The movie became the highest-grossing film in the Rebuild of Evangelion series in April when it grossed 7.42 billion yen (~US$67.2 million).

An updated version of the movie, titled Evangelion: 3.0+1.01 Thrice Upon A Time, is set for a Prime Video international release on August 13. 

The movie is the fourth and final entry in the Rebuild of Evangelion tetralogy, which is a retelling of 1995’s Neon Genesis Evangelion series. Its theme song, “One Last Kiss,” was performed by Utada Hikaru, who also performed the theme songs of the other Rebuild of Evangelion movies.
