#Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Complete OST To Be Released On March 17th In Japan

Not long after the formal premiere of the long-awaited final entry in the Evangelion Rebuild saga in  Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 last week to smashing success, the official Evangelion Twitter account has announced the forthcoming release of the complete original soundtrack, spanning three compact discs and 54 tracks. To celebrate the release, the EVA-EXTRA smartphone application is featuring a preview of the soundtrack, with paid users being able to preview 11 tracks, while free users are limited to 6 selections from the soundtrack.

In addition, 15-second soundtrack previews will run in the Tokyo Metro Concourse Vision installation in the Shinjuku Sanchome Station concourse from now until Sunday in Tokyo, while the same preview in audio form will run nationwide throughout Lawson convenience stores nationwide starting on Tuesday and running until March 22nd.

The soundtrack was composed and arranged by famed composer Shiro Sagisu, who previously handled the scores for the Evangelion TV series, companion films and the previous Rebuild films, owing to a long-time collaborator relationship wih Hideaki Anno. To round out the collection, a 64-page book will be enclosed with complete liner notes from Sagisu on the development of the score, which will also be made available on his official website shortly after the collection’s release.

Sagisu’s official site further stresses that this collection will not feature the fourth film’s theme song “One Last Kiss” by Hikaru Utada, or pieces of the score as heard in the film, but the complete versions of each piece featured in the film in their original context. In the interest of avoiding spoilers, I will not be including the complete tracklisting and links to the listing are available in the above-linked tweet and below.
