In the battle between Epic Games and Steam, Epic is finally adding a feature that brings it closer to Valve’s offering—the Epic Games Store is getting achievements. So now, the company will adequately reward the cool stuff you do in your games.

The platform-wide achievement system isn’t launching just yet, as Epic says it’ll be available to gamers next week.

In an FAQ, Epic pointed out that the platform already had a feature called “Developer Achievements,” which were managed by each game developer and didn’t provide a platform-wide score like Xbox, PlayStation, and Steam. Those achievements will still exist for developers who choose not to interact with Epic’s system.

With Epic’s new achievement system, the company says it’ll bring “additional benefits for players and brings them more in line with achievement systems on other platforms.” For example, it’ll have profile levels that track your overall progress throughout different games on Epic’s platform.

Currently, the list of games includes Rocket League, Hades, Pillars of Eternity, Kena, Zombie Army 4, and Alan Wake Remastered. As far as future games, the company says, “We expect this new system will roll out to all developers on the Epic Games Store in the coming months.” That means more developers will be able to integrate achievements into their games in the future.
