#Elon Musk reveals name of third child with Grimes

Elon Musk has confirmed that he and Canadian singer Grimes have a third child, whose name the tech mogul revealed is Tau Techno Mechanicus.

Musk made the reveal in a Saturday post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. His confirmation comes after the New York Times review of a highly anticipated biography of Musk revealed that he has a third child with Grimes, a fact which had previously been kept private. 

The biography, by esteemed author Walter Isaacson, will be released to the public on Tuesday. According to the Times review, the child is officially named Techno Mechanicus and nicknamed Tau.

Musk has several children, and two others with Grimes. Their first together, a son, is named X Æ A-XII, or “X” for short. He was born in 2020. Their second child, a daughter, is named Exa Dark Sideræl Musk, or “Y” for short.

The Los Angeles Times, which obtained an advance copy of the biography, reported that the third child is a son. The outlet reported that the couple had the child via surrogate in June 2022.

Tau, according to the LA Times, is described in the biography as “the Greek letter representing the irrational number that is equal to two times pi.” Tau has the approximate numerical value of 6.28, which the outlet noted is equivalent to Musk’s birthday, June 28.
