December 25’s One Piece episode will have a new end card animation that features One Piece Film Red‘s Uta in a Santa costume. A preview image has been released.

The animation will also be shown on screens in Tokyo and Osaka from December 19 to 25 at certain timings.

Uta, voiced by Kaori Nazuka and Ado (singing parts), previously starred in a Halloween-themed end card.

The One Piece anime series began in 1999 and passed the 1000th episode mark on November 21, 2021. It is based on the Shueisha-published One Piece manga by Eiichiro Oda, which began in 1997 and has 104 tankoubon volumes as of November 2022. The manga is serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump and published under the Jump Comics label. Toei Animation produces the series and movies.

One Piece Film Red premiered in Japan on August 6 and is currently the ninth highest-grossing film in the country. Gorou Taniguchi (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;Surrection, One Piece: Taose! Kaizoku Gyanzakku) directed the movie with Tsutomu Kuroiwa (One Piece Film: Gold, GANTZ:O) as scriptwriter, Masayuki Satou (One Piece Film Strong World character designer and animation director) as character designer and chief animation director, and One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda as general producer and original story creator. 

The film’s premise is described as:

Uta — the most beloved singer in the world. Her voice, which she sings with while concealing her true identity, has been described as “otherworldly.” She will appear in public for the first time at a live concert. As the venue fills with all kinds of Uta fans — excited pirates, the Navy watching closely, and the Straw Hats led by Luffy who simply came to enjoy her sonorous performance — the voice that the whole world has been waiting for is about to resound. The story begins with the shocking fact that she is “Shanks’ daughter.”
