#All Routes Lead to Doom! Gets Summer 2022 Stage Play

The official website of the My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! anime series has announced a stage play adaptation based on the first season’s plot. 

The curtains are set to rise in Summer 2022, with the play to be held at the Sunshine Theater in Tokyo, Japan. More details will be released at a later date.

The romantic-comedy anime, which is based on a light novel series, first premiered in April 2020. The second season, My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! X, is currently airing as part of the Summer 2021 anime season after premiering on July 3.

The anime’s cast members include Maaya Uchida as Catarina Claes, Shōta Aoi as Geordo Stuart, Tetsuya Kakihara as Keith Claes, Tatsuhisa Suzuki as Alan Stuart, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Nicol Ascart, Miho Okasaki as Mary Hunt, Inori Minase as Sophie Ascart, Saomi Hayari as Maria Campbell, Toshiki Masuda as Raphael Walt, and Azumi Waki as Anne Sherry. Kousuke Toriumi joined the cast as Rufus Brode for the second season.

Staff-wise, both seasons include Keisuke Inoue (Ao-chan Can’t Study!) as director, Megumi Shimizu (Butlers x Battlers, Snow White with the Red Hair) as script supervisor, and Miwa Oshima (Ao-chan Can’t Study!, Baka and Test – Summon the Beasts) as character designer. SILVER LINK is in charge of the animation production for both.

My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! X’s new staff members include Susumu Matsunaga (Akame ga Kill!) as prop designer, Yuki Kuribayashi (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) as 3D director, and Junko Nakajima, Sayaka Aoki, and Kanade Sakuma as music composers. Nichion is responsible for the music production.

Muse Asia describes the series as:

Most people would prefer being the protagonist of a world full of adventure, be it in a game or in another world. But, unfortunately, a certain girl is not so lucky. Regaining the memories of her past life, she realizes that she was reborn in the world of Fortune Lover—one of the games she used to play.

Unfortunately, the character she was reincarnated into—Katarina Claes—is the game’s main antagonist, who faces utter doom in every ending. Using her extensive knowledge of the game, she takes it upon herself to escape from the chains of this accursed destiny.

However, this will not be an easy feat, especially since she needs to be cautious as to not set off death flags that may speed up the impending doom she is trying to avoid. Even so, to make a change that will affect the lives of everyone around her, she strives—not as the heroine—but as the villainess.
