Brandon Nimmo smashed his second homer of the spring in the Mets’ 10-2 loss to the Marlins at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium. Nimmo, who started in left field and made a sliding catch to steal a hit, owns a .882 OPS this spring.
Roughed Up
Edwin Diaz’s perfect spring was ruined by a lackluster seventh inning. The Marlins scored three earned runs on four hits against Diaz, who was previously unscored against. Diaz struck out three batters in the inning.
Caught My Eye
Dellin Betances worked a perfect sixth inning in which he relied mostly on off-speed pitches, topping out at 93 mph with his fastball. It was his third straight scoreless outing.
