#Hikaru Utada’s Evangelion Film Theme Song Dominates Japan’s Digital Charts for Two Consecutive Weeks

 

 

According to the latest Oricon report, “One Last Kiss,” the theme song for Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time performed by Hikaru Utada, was downloaded 32,987 times in its second week, keeping its No.1 position in the Oricon weekly digital single ranking for two weeks in a row. The song was released on March 9 and dominated Oricon’s daily digital single ranking for 12 consecutive days.

 

Also, her latest EP “One Last Kiss,” which includes the song, recorded 5,399 downloads and ranked No.1 in the Oricon weekly digital album ranking again. This is her third work that has taken No.1 in the ranking for two consecutive weeks, following “Fantome” in 2016 and “Hatsukoi” in 2018. Meanwhile, its CD ranked third in the weekly album ranking in its second week selling 20,605 copies, after making its second-place debut last week.

 

The music video for the song “One Last Kiss” had been viewed 10 million times in one week since its release on March 9. As of today, March 24, the video’s viewing number has already reached 17.4 million times.
