If there is one movie star guaranteed to trend on social media on his birthday, it is obviously Dwayne Johnson. As the former wrestler and action movie powerhouse turns 50, his millions of followers came out in force to celebrate the occasion with throwback memories and best wishes. The Black Adam star is currently one of the most in-demand actors in Hollywood, and while there are some who still believe that stars in their 50s have limited movie options, Johnson is making sure everyone knows that is not the case.

Dwayne Johnson Set to Make His Black Adam Debut

Among his many upcoming roles, Dwayne Johnson is bringing Black Adam to screens this October and has been making sure that everyone knows about it. From sharing his weekly workout routines, his daily diet, and plenty of behind-the-scenes footage and images of the superhero movie, Johnson has kept his fans on Instagram happy every step of the way. The movie was originally due to be released early this year, but slid back to an October release in one of the many Warner Bros. slate shuffles.

At last week’s CinemaCon, The Rock presented a new trailer for Black Adam, which was instantly hailed as brutal, dark and dangerous, as the character was seen as being very much an anti-hero in the new footage. While there are still a few months to go before the movie is released in cinemas and no doubt The Rock will be ready to bring a lot more teases about the movie as we approach the fall, it is obvious that the hype around Black Adam is only going one way.

Of course, Johnson has many other movies in the pipeline, so many in fact that he previously said that he has to really be picky about which projects he chooses to do. Having recently appeared in Disney’s Jungle Cruise, Netflix movie Red Notice and the Jumanji movies, all of which have sequels in development, Johnson is going to be as busy as anyone else in Hollywood over the next few years without even having to think about where his next project is coming from. Despite this, the star has also teased that he is planning on making one of the biggest video games into a movie, with an announcement coming sometime soon. At the time he said, “I can’t tell you which game in particular we’re doing, but there will be an announcement this year. We’re going to bring one of the biggest, most badass games to the screen—one that I’ve played for years. I’m really excited to bring it to fans around the world.”
