The official website for Tokyo Anime Award Festival 2023 (TAAF2023) opened online voting for Anime of the Year’s Anime Fan Award on November 1.

Anime of the Year consists of three categories: Best Film (feature films and TV series), Individual Award, and Anime Fan Award. Among works commercially released or broadcast in Japan in the past year, fans first vote for their favorite 100 works, and then the “Anime Fan Award” and other prizes are determined from among those 100 works.

TAAF2023 will select the top 100 works from the 411 films screened or broadcast in fiscal year 2022 (October 1, 2021 to September 30, 2022) in the “Everyone’s Choice Best 100” voted by anime fans. The selected top 100 works (80 TV series and 20 theatrical films) will be eligible for the “Best Film” and “Anime Fan Award” of the Anime of the Year.

From November 1 to December 2, 2022, voters can choose up to three works each for TV series and film. The current number one title in its TV anime category is Dropkick on My Devil!!! X, the third season of the Dropkick on My Devil! anime franchise. Because the anime’s official Twitter account enthusiastically has called for votes, the fans must have answered the call.
