#Kemono Friends S1 Director Tatsuki Reveals Upcoming Movie Project

Good news for fans of independent animator / director Tatsuki (Kemono Friends Season 1, Kemurikusa)! According to an announcement included at the conclusion of the Hentatsu New Year’s Eve Special short animation, the director is working on a new original theatrical animation project.

The new film project is currently tentatively scheduled for release in 2023. So far, no further details about the production (such as the title or the exact release window) have yet been revealed. The Hentatsu New Year’s Eve Special can also be viewed via the Irodori Youtube page (embedded below).

The concluding portion of the announcement of the announcement features a somber piece of music playing while a young man holding an open book stands beneath a tree and observes a mountain range in the distance. As the piece concludes, the book jumps out of the boy’s hands and sprouts legs, and the mountain range breaks apart and begins to levitate.
