Drake Confirms The Return Of OVO Fest

Toronto, Canada –

Drake has confirmed that OVO Fest will be returning Toronto as soon as this summer.

The festival has been on hiatus for the last three years but Drake made the surprise announcement that it was returning during a Central Cee concert in Toronto.

During his unannounced appearance, Drake said to the crowd: “I’ll see you this summer by the way. OVO Fest will be back this year.”

The 6 God then appeared to confirm that the British rapper will be among the lineup as he looked at Cench and said: “We’ll need you there for that.’”

An official announcement regarding the festival has yet to be made and Drake did not divulge any more details about the event.

Drake last put on OVO Fest in 2022 where he reunited with his Young Money cohorts Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj.

Perhaps not coincidentally, that year’s festival was also announced during a British rapper’s tour stop in Canada.

While Dave was performing at REBEL in May of 2022, Drake said to the crowd in attendance: “Toronto, please, like I said, this guy right here is a once in a generation talent. Whether he’s rapping, pouring out his heart, whether he’s turning all the way up, whether he’s playing the piano, whether he’s acting in our show, Top Boy, I promise you this guy right here is a one of one. Make some muthafucking noise for Dave.”

He added: “I love you with all my heart. They let the city back open so I will see you at OVO Fest soon.”

All previous iterations of the festival have occurred in August.

If this year’s OVO Fest goes ahead, it would be the first event to be put on since Drake began feuding with Kendrick Lamar, a beef that has caused shockwaves across the Hip Hop industry.

Previous versions of the festival have featured artists that Drake has began feuding with over the last year such as The Weeknd, Rick Ross and A$AP Rocky.

Drake would still have his extensive OVO roster to pull from including PartyNextDoor, Roy Woods and Majid Jordan, all of whom have performed at the festival before.
