“Saving 80,000 Gold in Another World for my Retirement Anime To Begin in January 2023”

Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Sirius’s Twitter account has revealed that an anime adaptation of Saving 80,000 Gold in Another World for my Retirement will begin airing in January 2023.

The Saving 80,000 Gold in Another World for my Retirement manga by Keisuke Motoe began in 2017 and will release its 10th tankoubon volume on August 8. It is published under the Sirius KC label. The manga is an adaptation of the light novel series written by FUNA, which began as a web novel on Shousetsuka ni Narou in 2015.

Kodansha USA, which recently announced its licensing of both the light novels and manga, describes the story as:

Mitsuha Yamano falls off a cliff, at which point she finds herself transported to some sort of medieval European fantasy world! While there, during a battle with some wolves that almost costs her her life, she realizes that she has the ability to come and go between Earth and this new world. Mitsuha decides to use this ability as much as she can. Why? To save up for retirement, of course! She sets her sights on saving eighty thousand gold coins–and this is the story of her schemes to get there!

The light novels began in 2017 and are published under the K Light Novels label. The series has seven volumes as of July 29, 2022. Touzai illustrated the books until the seventh volume, which was illustrated by Keisuke Motoe. The now-FTB Forfeited Sol Press previously licensed the manga and light novels.
