#Kujira Joins Astro Note Voice Cast as Obachan on Her Birthday
Veteran voice actress Kujira is joining the voice cast of the original TV anime series Astro Note as Oba-chan, who is a talkative resident of the boarding house that loves discussing and spreading gossip. The anime is scheduled to premiere in Japan on April 5, 2024.
The announcement was made on Kujira’s birthday on April 1, 2024. Her character was added to an updated main key visual of the series.

Kujira joins an ensemble voice cast that includes:

- • Maaya Uchida as Mira Gotokuji
- • Rie Kugimiya as Ren Wakabayashi
- • Tomokazu Sugita as Tomihiro Wakabayashi
- • Shinichiro Miki as Shokichi Yamashita
- • Ai Furihata as Teruko Matsubara
- • Junichi Suwabe as Naosuke
- • Yui Ogura as Aoi Uemachi
- • Jun Fukuyama as Shoin Ginger
Shinji Takamatsu (Teppen!!! chief director, Gintama [until Episode 105] and Daily Lives of High School Boys director) is serving as the series’ chief director, with Haruki Kasugamori (Dragon Goes House Hunting) as director, Kimiko Ueno (Delicious in Dungeon) as series screenwriter, Eisaku Kubonochi (Bullbuster, Carole & Tuesday) as original character designer, Maho Aoki (The Seven Deadly Sins: Dragon’s Judgement sub-animation character designer) as character designer and chief animation director, and Kohei Munemoto (I’m Quitting Heroing) as music composer. Telecom Animation Film is handling the animation production.
Crunchyroll is streaming Astro Note worldwide outside of Japan, and describes the synopsis as:
Takumi, a gifted chef, was just let go from his job. He lands a gig at an old boarding house called Astro-sou, but hesitates to accept after learning he must also live there full-time. That is until he meets the beautiful and charming caretaker, Mira, and he’s sold. The two begin to work together and their connection deepens. But Mira has a secret: she isn’t from this world!
