While manga-readers have been dealing with Nagatoro's teasing (though we know what it actually is!) for a while now, her teasing starts for anime fans when Don’t Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro TV anime starts in Spring 2021, the official website announced today! Alongside the date, the voice actors for the male lead, Senpai, and Nagatoro's friends were revealed alongside a new anime visual of Nagatoro and Senpai.
Daiki Yamashita (Izuku Midoriya in My Hero Academia) will be voicing the teased Senpai, with Nagatoro's friends being voiced by Mikako Komatsu (Susamaru in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba) as Gamo-chan, Aina Suzuki (Mari Ohara in Love Live! Sunshine!!) as Yosshii, and Shiori Izawa (Cheshire in Infinite Dendrogram) as Sakura.
It was also announced that Nagatoro previously revealed voice actor Sumire Uesaka (Kyrie Canaan in the Japanese dub of Final Fantasy VII Remake, Sanae Dekomori in Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions) will also be heading up the theme song for Don’t Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro. An audio drama was also released with Uesaka voicing the main girl.
Heading up the TV anime is Tower of God assistant director Hirokazu Hanai as the director, with Haikyu!! series composer Taku Kishimoto looking after the scripts, Tari Tari sub-character designer Misaki Suzuki as the character designer, and music from Gin (Busted Rose). Don’t Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro will be animated at Telecom Animation Film (Tower of God).
Kodansha releases the manga in both Japan and the west in English, describing the series as such:
Nagatoro is a freshman in high school who loves teasing and torturing her older male classmate! What’s her motivation and why does Senpai put up with her? Does Nagatoro just want to create misery for Senpai? Or maybe she secretly likes him?
