Doechii has shared the studio version of “Stressed,” a song she premiered on Monday (October 10) via a COLORS live show. The new track arrives exactly a month after the release of her remix of Ravyn Lenae’s “Xtasy” and just under three months past SZA’s remix of “Persuasive,” a song from Doechii’s August EP, she / her / black bitch.

For an anxiety anthem, “Stressed” is set to surprisingly smooth instrumentation, and Doechii sounds calm and collected as she delivers her chorus: “I must be lost in my regrets / I must be down, I must be stressed / I’ve got like thirteen years of age / That I ain’t still got off my chest / It must be so much more to life / If I had diamonds and bouguettes [sic] / I must be stupid, fuckin’ shady / Must be down, I must be stressed.”

Her tempo and intensity increase on the verses. Flowing at a breakneck pace, she rattles off punchlines like there’s no tomorrow, but it sounds like she’s coming from a place of pure confidence. If Doechii really is stressed, she does a great job hiding it.
