#Dodgers fans loot massive tractor-trailer after World Series win

Los Angeles descended into chaos following the Dodgers’ World Series win Tuesday night, as fans looted and vandalized shops — and an 18-wheeler filled with goods — in the city’s downtown area.

Videos on social media show swarms of people surrounding the white tractor-trailer and some climbing inside and throwing boxes of merchandise to the crowd.

Vandals also smashed their way inside a Foot Locker and other stores and spray-painted buildings and at least one police car, NBC Los Angeles reported.

The rowdy celebration included fireworks and smoke bombs and fans jumping on top of cars. The Los Angeles Police Department declared an unlawful assembly just after midnight and arrested at least eight people, according to CBS Los Angeles.

Drivers were also doing burn-outs and donuts with their cars, with one plowing into a cyclist at the intersection of Olympic and Grand avenues before peeling away, video shows. The cyclist, who was flung from the car, was able to walk away.

The chaos ensued despite a message from legendary Dodgers sportscaster Vin Scully, who pleaded for a calm celebration.

“I know you want to celebrate like everybody else, but let’s do it properly, let’s do it the way the Dodgers did, with pride in themselves and pride in our great city,” Scully said in a video posted to Dodgers’ Twitter page. “Let’s show the rest of the country that we know how to celebrate the proper way.”

The Dodgers went 4-2 against the Tampa Bay Rays to win their first World Series in 32 years.

Violent clashes also broke out in the city two weeks ago following the LA Lakers NBA championship win.
