#DNC guide: When it’s on, how to watch and speaker schedule

Former Vice President Joe Biden will be formally nominated as the Democratic presidential nominee this Thursday at the first Democratic National Convention held during the coronavirus pandemic.

It will be an all-virtual affair, with Biden and Sen. Kamala Harris, his 2020 running mate, making their acceptance speeches from a ballroom in Wilmington, Delaware, instead of a convention center full of cheering supporters, balloons and bunting.

The nominating convention, which kicks off Monday, was scheduled to be held at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in July but was moved largely online because of safety fears during the pandemic — billing itself as a “Convention Across America” that will include all 57 states and territories.

Here’s what you need to know about the 2020 Democratic National Convention — including what days it is on, times to watch, and the schedule of speakers and entertainers:

When to watch the 2020 DNC

There will be four nights of programming beginning Monday and running through Thursday, beginning at 9 p.m. and ending at 11 p.m. ET.

It will be live-streamed on the Democratic National Convention website and its social media handles, including Youtube, Facebook and Twitter.

The major broadcast and cable networks and news stations are also scheduled to cover the convention extensively.
