#Purple Plan Announces Violet Evergarden the Movie Screening in Southeast Asia

Singapore-based film distributor Purple Plan has announced the release dates for Violet Evergarden: The Movie in Southeast Asia on their Facebook page. 

The movie will be screened in Singapore on December 3 while Vietnam will air the movie a day later on December 4. Release dates for Malaysia and Indonesia are still pending at the time of writing. 

Violet Evergarden: The Movie is the sequel to the Violet Evergarden anime, which originally aired in January 2018. The movie was released in Japan on September 18 this year after two delays. It was originally slated for release on January 10 this year, but it was postponed to April 24 after the tragic arson attack on Kyoto Animation. It was then delayed again due to COVID-19. The official Kyoto Animation channel uploaded the first 10 minutes of the movie on YouTube on October 8.

After working as an Auto Memory Doll, Violet Evergarden has come to learn the meaning of the words “I love you.” Her soul, which has been deeply scarred by the war, has begun to heal. She continues to move forward in life, helping others in need, while keeping the words of the first person who ever said “I love you” to her close to her heart. When she takes on a job to write a letter for a terminally-ill boy, time starts to move forward.

A spin-off movie titled Violet Evergarden: Eternity and the Auto Memories Doll was released in Japan in September 2019. Both the anime series and the spin-off film are available on Netflix.
