Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Hinokami Chronicles

Publisher Aniplex and developer CyberConnect2 have officially announced that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam on October 14 in Japan, as well as released the second official trailer, Ufotable-illustrated box art, and game editions information.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles will be available in the following editions in Japan:

Standard Edition (Physical)

The standard physical edition of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles will be available for both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 in Japan for 8,360 yen. First-print copies include an original IC card sticker.

Standard Edition (Digital)

The standard digital edition of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam for 8,360 yen. All digital purchases include an early unlock code for Kimetsu Gakuen Tanjiro Kamado, and PlayStation 4 purchases also include Tanjiro Kamado and Nezuko Kamado avatars, as well as a Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles theme. Pre-orders include early unlock codes for Kimetsu Gakuen Giyu Tomioka and Kimetsu Gakuen Shinobu Kocho, and PlayStation 4 pre-orders also include a Tanjiro Kamado (Final Selection) avatar.

Limited Edition (Physical)

The physical limited edition of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles will be available for PlayStation 4 for 16,280 yen. It includes a copy of the game; an original figure multi-stand; early unlock codes for Kimetsu Gakuen Tanjiro Kamado, Kimtesu Gakuen Nezuko Kamado, Kimetsu Gakuen Zenitsu Agatsuma, and Kimetsu Gakuen Hashibira Inosuke; a set of 13 avatars; the in-game “Butterfly Mansion Patient” costumes for Tanjiro Kamado, Zenitsu Agatsuma, and Hashibira Inosuke; 8,000 Kimetsu Points; a Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles theme; and a Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles dynamic theme. First-print copies include an original IC card sticker.

Deluxe Edition (Digital)

The digital Deluxe Edition of of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam for 9,900 yen. It includes everything included in the physical limited edition, excluding the original figure multi-stand.

And here is an overview of the game’s two modes:

Solo Play Mode

In Solo Play Mode, players will be able to relive the story of Tanjiro Kamado as depicted in the TV anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. Its episodes start from the “Kamado Tanjirou Risshi Arc” of the TV anime, in which Tanjiro joins the Demon Slayer Corps and faces off against various demons, and end at the “Mugen Train Arc” of the feature film, in which Tanjiro joins the Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku on a mission.

Enjoy the battles against the demons from the anime with beautiful graphics and expression.

Versus Mode

Form a tag team of two characters from the characters who fought in intense battles in the TV anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, including Tanjiro Kamado and Nezuko Kamado, as well as from six characters who appeared in the official anime spin-off Chuukou Ikkan!! Kimetsu Gakuen Monogatari, for a total of 18 characters. Enjoy battles with your ideal tag team, be it a combination of characters who fought alongside each other in the anime, or a dream team that did not.

Two-player online play is also supported.

Additionally, Aniplex announced that the latest gameplay footage and an introduction to the game’s content will be featured during Aniplex Online Fest 2021 live stream on July 4 at 14:00 JST.
