#Delays put NYC COVID-19 vaccinations at a ‘standstill’

New York City’s coronavirus vaccination program was at a “standstill” Saturday morning because of delayed deliveries, according to a City Hall spokeswoman.

“As of this morning, New York City has fewer than 1,000 first doses remaining on-hand,” Avery Cohen tweeted Saturday.

The city had fewer than 111,000 second doses of the vaccine, but is not allowed to use them for an initial shot.

Cohen said many city vaccination sites continued to operate at limited capacity and only to administer second doses.

Mayor de Blasio said Thursday that weather-related shipping delays meant an expected delivery of first doses, intended to arrive Friday, likely would not come in until Sunday.
