#Brooklyn driver fleeing car crash stikes and kills pedestrian

A man was arrested for fatally striking a woman with his car as he was fleeing a separate collision in Brooklyn tonight, police said.

Michael Rajpaul, 22, is accused of running over the 53-year-old woman near the intersection of East 55th Street and Glenwood Road in East Flatbush at about 10:16 p.m., authorities said.

The woman was taken by EMS to Kings County Hospital, but could not be saved.

Rajpaul allegedly hit the victim in his Hyundai as he was fleeing the wrong way down 55th Street from an earlier collision with a BMW sedan, police said.

In the second crash, in addition to the pedestrian, Rajpaul struck a Honda sedan, cops said.

Police charged Rajpaul with manslaughter, assault and reckless driving.
