#Dates confirmed and early deals that are already live

It’s officially official: Amazon has announced that Prime Day this year will be on July 16 and 17 and will include “access to millions of great deals” across the 48-hour sales event. According to Amazon, we can expect to see deals on featured big-name brands like Clinique, Samsung, Allbirds, Fitbit, Bose, Sony, Oral-B, Ninja and Kiehl’s.

In addition to your standard good-as-Black-Friday markdowns, invite-only deals are also back this year, which means that Prime members can request an invitation to shop exclusive deals that Amazon expects to sell out quickly. Some top Invite-only deals to know about this year? Up to 40% off Sony wireless headphones and up to 30% off Peloton products, just to name a few.

Amazon will also be dropping new deals about every five minutes during certain intervals of the sale, which means there’s definitely no shortage of deals and there’s literally something for everyone hiding in the digital sales racks. Of course in addition to stellar deals across the site, Amazon Prime Day includes exclusive deals for Amazon Prime members, such as free shipping and some exclusive-access deals.

But Amazon is not where it ends. Other retailers all across the internet are getting in on the July sales fun. Walmart, specifically. In fact, Walmart just announced “its largest savings event ever” — dubbed “Walmart Deals.” From 5 p.m. ET on Monday, July 8 through midnight on Thursday, July 11 at 11:59 p.m., Walmart shoppers can shop “thousands” of deals during “Walmart Deals” savings extravaganza. Basically, the entire month of July will bring us some of the best sales of the years, rivaling Black Friday prices.

We’ll keep you updated on Amazon’s Prime Day event as well as Walmart’s competitive deals event as we learn more. But if you’re itching for some deals already, there are some items getting a jump start on savings, so scroll down for deals worth shopping already.

BRONAX

Finally something every generation can agree on! These viral slippers have got Zers, Xers, Millennials and Boomers feeling like they’re like walking on marshmallows. They’re made with EVA material and have a 1.7-inch thick sole to cushion your feet with every step. hey’re also designed for all surfaces with an anti-slip sole to prevent falls on wet or slick floors. But the biggest attraction for Amazon shoppers is how much they prevent a variety of foot aches and pains.

“Great Shoe option if you struggle with achey joints/foot pain,” said one reviewer. “Anyone could benefit from a pair of these shoes. Literally gives the sensation of walking on pillows. Reduces pressure points from multiple areas of foot.”

This rechargeable electric candle lighter on Amazon is a smoke-free, odorless and windproof way of creating a flame — not to mention it’s really satisfying to use! The lighter works by using “plasma flameless arc technology,” which works by using targeted energy to light candles, stoves and more without harmful fuels and chemicals. And because it doesn’t run on butane, there’s no need to refill the lighter.

L’Oréal Paris

Martha Stewart’s makeup artist of 10 years said she uses this L’Oreal “glotion” on Stewart after SPF “for dewiness and a smooth canvas for makeup.”

I tested out this L’Oreal Glow Enhancer as part of my beauty routine for several months and found it to be well worth the price, even when not on sale. It’s a lightweight, slightly runny cream lotion that is best applied with a small brush for a smooth, even finish. The lotion has a very gentle illuminating effect in the light.

I found it to be a good option for brightening my skin especially when I didn’t want to wear a full face of makeup. I also used it in place of a stick or powder highlighter, instead applying just a few dots of this lotion to my cheekbones and brow line for a boost of brightness.

TULA

This hydrating under-eye balm goes on with a cooling sensation and is formulated with skin-loving probiotics to help brighten and refresh tired skin over time. It’s formulated with probiotic extracts, firming peptides and probiotic superfoods to plump and revitalize skin from the inside out, while ingredients like caffeine, rosewater and blueberry infuse hydration and valuable antioxidants while reducing the appearance of dark circles.

As a devout user of this eye balm, I also recommend using it like a highlighter, putting just a dab on cheekbones and brows for some extra brightening power. On hot summer days I like to keep it with me to add a quick cooling swipe when I feel overheated.

The product’s unique creamy texture is what makes it stand out, according to the more than 13,000 reviewers on Amazon who’ve given it a 4.4-star rating. One reviewer put it best when they said, “It creates the slightest glimmer and the texture it creates when it touches your skin is delicious.”

Neutrogena

This powerful anti-aging moisturizer is consistently recommended by dermatologists thanks to its ingredients and affordable price point. The rich, emollient formula uses hyaluronic acid to lock in hydrating molecules while the retinol works overtime to turn over dull, aging cells and lift up brighter, more youthful-looking cells to the skin’s surface. Remember to only wear a retinol at night and wear a sunscreen the morning after to protect fresh, sensitive skin.

Plus, it has a 4.4-star rating on Amazon among a whopping nearly 50,000 reviewers. One five-star reviewer had this to say: “I have been using this product for about 2 weeks. I have started to see a huge difference in my skin. It feels and looks alive. I’m only 53 but as we get older we lose the elasticity in our skin. This cream is amazing. Add a little vitamin C cream afterwards and your skin will glow.”

Another reviewer said the affordable price point is what drew them in. “I am very young and already noticeably wrinkling,” they said. “I started to use Neutrogena Retinol Face Moisturizer every night after a $100 competitor left me with limited improvement. This works just as well and is much cheaper.”

Experts agree that most people don’t apply enough sunblock — 1.5 ounces for most adults — so a high SPF option can act “like an insurance policy to give you the best level of protection possible,” said to Dr. Joshua Zeichner of Zeichner Dermatology when interviewed about the best sunscreens.

“This sunscreen has been clinically tested and shown to give better sunburn protection compared to sunscreens with lower SPFs,” Zeichner continued. Neutrogena’s Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen is lightweight, fast-absorbing and has a non-greasy, matte finish that can be used all over the body.

CeraVe

CeraVe’s Hydrating Facial Cleanser comes recommended by several experts we’ve spoken with over the years. Because skin undergoes many changes as you age, experts agree that the hyaluronic acid and ceramides found in this cleanser are essential for gently cleansing away impurities while leaving skin hydrated and plump while retaining its natural oils.

If your skin feels tight after cleansing, then your face wash is likely too aggressive and might be stripping too many of your skin’s precious oils. Consider cleansing your face only at night if your skin feels too dry in the morning for a second cleanse.

Utopia Bedding

You can’t use a duvet cover without an insert, right? That’s usually where the price really goes up, but this quilted comforter insert on Amazon will only run you $21 while on sale.

Best of all, if you’ve ever wrestled with a duvet insert and cover before, you know that having four corner tabs makes things so much easier and keeps the insert from sliding around. We’ve made sure that this one checks that box. And if you’re afraid to commit to white bedding, it also comes in 10 other colors.

Over 94,000 Amazon shoppers gave it a perfect rating with thousands of shoppers raving about the corner tabs that “help immensely when changing the comforter covers.”

SON&PARK

As skin ages, experts recommend using a toner that both hydrates and gently exfoliates such as Son & Park Beauty Water. It’s a multipurpose toner that acts as the final line in your cleansing routine to hydrate, exfoliate, refresh and prepare skin for your serums, treatments and moisturizers. It’s made with naturally soothing ingredients like lavender and rose, a well as ingredients for gentle exfoliation like papaya fruit extract.

While you might not think that using a toner is an essential in your skin care routine, nearly every expert we spoke with in our guide to building a skin care routine in your 50s said that it’s an important step after cleansing, especially if you’re targeting different concerns with each product you use.

Never lose your phone, keys, luggage or wallet again with a pack of Apple AirTags. Use them to keep all of your most prized possession nearby and easy to find. In fact, on a recent international flight, I stuffed an AirTag into my checked luggage, just in case. It was a good thing, too. Once I landed, I was able to check the status of the AirTag and see that luggage had been left behind in Paris, so it saved us from having to waste time at baggage claim looking for a bag that would never arrive. Thankfully our luggage was found and sent on the next flight over, but the AirTag spared us a lot of stress and heartbreak during its journey home!

Embr

We’ll be the first to say that this technology isn’t going tyo get you through record-breaking heat warnings. But if you’re the type of person who suffers everyday from hot flashes and overheating, then this handy device might be a godsend.

Have you ever been excessively hot but felt better as soon as you splashed your hands and wrists with cooler water? That’s sort of how the Embr Wave works. It rests against the inside of your wrist where you’re the most susceptible to temperature fluctuations and emits a series of either warm or cool sensations using a compact thermoelectric heat pump,. The waves can last from 5 minutes up to 9 hours to keep you comfortable.

The device has a companion app that works on both Android and Apple devices where you can choose your settings and get personalized relief.

“I highly recommend for anyone who feels the heat or cold a little too much during the specific seasons,” wrote one reviewer. “It works as advertised. For the tea or coffee lover who really hates when their cuppa goes cold, the Ember temperature-control mug is a no brainer. I’m a long-time owner of the original Ember mug (this is the model No. 2) and I love it because it prevents me from having to heat up my drink over and over when I’m having a leisurely morning.

The charging base keeps your drink warm to your preferred temperature for up to 80 minutes. It comes with an app where you can set temperature preferences, make presets and more. The charging base also works without an app and remembers your last preference settings.

One five-star reviewer has this to say: “I’ve been seeing this brand coffee candy in a lot of K-dramas so wanted to give it try and WOW it is so good now I am hooked into this thing. The BedJet is a favorite for sleeping if you don’t have air conditioning. Basically, it’s a tiny, standalone air conditioner with a tube that connects to a special two-layer top sheet. When it’s on, it blows cool air into the sheet so your bed stays at the optimal temperature all night. There’s a remote control to adjust the temperature and airflow the way you like it. (Bonus: it has a heating function for the winter.)

“How did I ever live without this?” asked a happy sleeper. “I had been stifled with night sweats for years until my friend told me about this and I finally pulled the trigger. Best money I could’ve spent. My Dr recommended one called esleep that was over $1000 but I didn’t want to spend that much. Seriously now my husband and I just fight over who gets to put their feet closest to the fan. We have a queen size bed and I can literally feel cool sheets all night even in our pillow area.”

Chances are you may already be familiar with Amazon’s annual sales event. Typically a July sale, Amazon has added a similar October event in recent years to kick off the holiday shopping season. The July Prime Day is typically a two-day online shopping extravaganza when virtually every product category will have discounts, including the biggest names in tech, fashion, beauty, home, kitchen and everything in between. There are usually dropping prices and limited-time promotions that are too good to pass up. Lightning Deals, in particular, can have significantly reduced prices for a brief time, adding just a bit of urgency to your shopping experience.

Official Prime Day 2024 dates will be July 16 and 17, with plenty of lead-up deals and wind-down sales, making the typically two-day event stretch even longer. Be warned; Amazon will not be the only retailer sharing sales during this time. There will be countless sales to shop for many days surrounding the event.

Virtually all digital stores offer some promotion to compete, and it’s worth doing a little price comparison before checking out. We’ve seen some better prices off Amazon during Prime Day with competitors matching or beating prices. Walmart is launching its biggest savings event of the year, Walmart Deals, a week prior, July 8 – July 11, for a full four days of savings. Other retailers to check are Target, Best Buy, Wayfair, Overstock.com and more.

We’ve got all the tips and tricks you need to help you shop Amazon Prime Days like a pro. The first thing you’ll want to do to make sure you can take full advantage of Prime Day 2024 is to sign up for a Prime membership. This will give you full access to all the deals, plus free shipping. You can sign up for your free 30-day trial here.

  • Create a Wish List – Just like we suggested during the summer savings event, the most efficient way to navigate Prime Big Deal Days is to consider creating a wish list ahead of time. This makes it easier to track prices and not miss when the deal goes live.

  • Utilizing Lightning Deals – Lightning Deals are a hallmark of Prime Days, offering time-sensitive opportunities to snag products at unbeatable prices. Keep an eye on these fleeting deals because they run out when the clock does or the item sells out, whichever comes first.

  • Shop early deals – Some products will drop in price ahead of the official sale dates as part of the lead-up sales event to get a competitive edge, so if the price of an item is the best you’ve seen, you’ll want to scoop it up ASAP

  • Price match at other retailers – Because many retailers are

There were deals across every category, but according to Amazon itself, the top-selling products from Prime Day 2023 were the Amazon Fire TV Stick, Laneige Lip Glowy Balm, Apple AirPods, and the Bissell Little Green Portable Deep Cleaner, which is still a top seller for AOL readers today.

If you have Amazon Prime, you’ll get free shipping, of course. Not yet a member? No problem. You can sign up for your free 30-day trial here. (And by the way, those without Prime still get free shipping on orders of $25 or more.)
