On the PlayStation Showcase, Rockstar Games made a disappointing announcement. GTA V and GTA Online for platforms like Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5 will face certain delays. According to the developer, the games are not pitched to release in March 2022 as the games require more fine-tuning, polishing.

Next-Gen Edition Delayed

Initially, this game was supposed to release on Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation by 11^th November 2021 but it seems like we have to wait a tad bit longer now. With the sneaky trailer shown during the showcase, we understood that it will release by March 2022 presently. However, we have no exact date whatsoever.
It was during May that developer Rockstar Games had announced that GTA V and GTA Online enhanced versions will be released. More specifically, hints were about the enhancement to higher resolutions; even the newly upgraded version will support higher frame rates.

For PlayStation 5 owners, GTA Online will be exclusive to this platform during the first three months of release. Once three months are down, then GTA Online will be on Xbox Series S as well as Xbox Series X. And counting from now till the time of the launch, PlayStation Plus subscribers have a unique chance to collect one million GTA money that too “every month on PlayStation 4 version of GTA Online”. This unique promotion is only valid till the developers; RockStar Games release the PlayStation 5 version.

Fans React

Furthermore, fans reportedly found the trailer quite underwhelming. Beyond the delay of the release date, fans are also upset that GTA V “lacks details on the features to expect from the next-gen edition”.
Fans and players also pointed out the quality of the graphics and visuals as shown on the new trailers looks like it is “on par with the game’s current version”. We’re hoping that this will give the developers a buffer time to get a head start on perfecting the enhancements.
