“#Daniel Jones looks unlikely to play for Giants”
Daniel Jones’ two leg injuries likely require a step backwards.
It looks like the Giants will turn to backup quarterback Colt McCoy to start Sunday for the second time in three weeks. McCoy took the first rep in the individual drills – typically an indication of the depth chart – during Friday’s practice.
Jones is listed as “questionable” on the official injury report after his limited participation Friday. He was “questionable” last week, too, but he was ahead of McCoy in the drills and started against the Cardinals.
The difference this week is that Jones is dealing with more than the right hamstring strain suffered Nov. 29. He also suffered a sprained left ankle against the Cardinals and still appeared to be moving gingerly when asked to step into his throws and jog down the field.
The Giants take on the Browns on Sunday night trying to keep their NFC East hopes alive.
